Homework note for 11/18
Thank you Alena for emailing me on this one. The homework due tomorrow is Investigation 3.4. You have had the chance to play the integer product game, so you should have no problems in answering the questions. While we are talking about changing the schedule...Since the 5th graders are walking through tomorrow, we will NOT have check-up 2.

Mathletes quick review of integers
The multiplying and the dividing algorithms are the same! It's nice that way. So...
(pos = positive, neg = negetive)
Dividing:
(pos = positive, neg = negetive)
Dividing:
- pos / pos= pos
- neg / neg = pos
- pos / neg = neg
- neg / pos = neg
Homework for the night of 11/16
The homework due on Tuesday is 4-11, 33 in the third ace section. This assignment was originally due last Friday before the schedule change. The assignment sheet will follow soon.
Multiplying/dividing algorithm:
Multiplying/dividing algorithm:
- pos * pos = pos
- neg * neg = pos
- pos * neg = neg
- neg * pos = neg

an inv 2.2 answers
a5a) -4 a5b) -2 1/4 a5c) 1/2 a5d) -3/4
c) No, subtraction is not communitive. In other words, changing the order of a subtraction problem will change the answer. 7-(-8) does not equal -8 - 7. Addition is communitive. 7 + -8 does equal -8 + 7.
