Substitute Plans

Sub Plans for 1/25
Open the Active Inspire flipchart  MSA ... and go to the green page labeled Investigation 3.2 (it will have a problem asking for areas and perimeters (p.82).  Have the page display on the board and have the kids work on it for 5 to 10 minutes.  Then have volunteers come to the board an show there work.  The only one that may give them problems is the trapezoid a=.5(b1 + b2)h.  The answers are on the next page with work.

Then go to the next red page asking for the area of a circle and have the kids do the problem.  After 5 minutes play this video:

Work on the investigation in pairs.

Once the first group claim to be done, play this for the class:

With 10 minutes left in class, have one person from each table group come up to the board and explain a problem.  You can pick anyone, not just volunteers.

If there is time left over, they can work on homework.

Mathletics have been given there tasks.  You just need to keep time.  They should post the winners (and the raw scores not including the handicaps) on the mathletics edmodo page before class is over.  For homework they need to work on one Full comp 3.





Sub plans for 8/30 and 8/31

Thank you for subbing for me today.  The schedule is on the board.  You will have the first elective and lunch off.  The first two core periods are 8th grade math and core 3 and 4 are 7th grade math.  Elective 2 is mathletics.

At the beginning of each class, have a volunteer check the homework in.  There are clipboards with class lists on the desk.

Thursday

 After everyone finishes, play this video:

Then have the kids open their books to inv 1.3 and play this video

After the video, then have kids work in partner groups to complete this investigation.  Once they are done, play this video

With any left over time, they can do their homework.
